Wing Chun at JASMA
What is Wing Chun?
Wing Chun is a close quarters system of self-defence. Its combat method employs the use of fist, elbow, shoulder, foot, knee and hip. During fundamental training the mind is used to lead the Chi (inner energy) to the muscles. Keeping the mind calm and the body relaxed is one of the most important skills in Wing Chun and is the foundation of lightning speed, power and sensitivity. Combined with the correct use of timing, distancing, energy and technique the Wing Chun practitioner is able to defend themselves against any adversary, improve their health and maintain a deep sense of inner peace and tranquillity.
The student will learn three hand forms before advancing to wooden dummy and weapons training.
